Keywords:
Airport, Counseling, Fire Disaster, Self-readinessAbstract
The airport area has a high fire risk, mainly due to the concentration of flammable materials and dense activity. In addition, various supporting facilities such as hangars, fuel warehouses, and passenger terminals make this area vulnerable to fire incidents. However, based on initial observations, the awareness and readiness of the surrounding community towards the potential for fire disasters still needs to improve. This can worsen the impact if a fire occurs, threatening the safety of lives, property, and the smooth operation of the airport. The purpose of this counseling is that each participant is expected to have basic knowledge of fire handling around the airport to increase public understanding in general regarding fire prevention and protection. This community service activity aims to increase awareness and preparedness of the community in the airport area against the threat of fire disasters. The counseling provided includes understanding the potential fire risk, preventive measures, and emergency steps that must be taken during a fire. The methods used in this counseling include presentations, simulations, and interactive discussions to ensure active participation from the community. The results of this activity show an increase in community understanding and readiness in dealing with potential fire disasters, as well as increased skills in using fire extinguishers and evacuation. This program is expected to be a model for similar counseling in other risk areas
