Considering its function as a means of transport, blood is one of the most vital components of the body. Conditions such as anemia, low blood pressure, heart attacks, and various other diseases can result from a lack of blood in the body. Blood transfusions are also necessary in certain situations involving a high risk of bleeding, such as accidents, burns, or childbirth. Based on observations at MA Al-Fatah School in Palembang, we discovered that the majority of students were unaware of their blood types. This finding prompted us to conduct a community service activity by providing students with lessons, discussions, and practical exercises on blood type testing. The A-B-O and Rh (Rhesus) blood group systems are the two most critical classifications. Immunological reactions from incompatible blood transfusions can lead to hemolytic anemia, kidney failure, shock, and even death. Our hope after this community service activity is that students will apply the understanding in their daily lives that knowing their blood type is crucial, particularly in the context of blood transfusions.
